Windsor life coach earns international recognition

When Patrick Williams graduated from the University of Northern Colorado in 1977, he was pretty certain he’d be a psychologist for a long time.
He got his doctorate in transpersonal psychology, and started a practice.
The problem, Williams said, was he didn’t like diagnosing people.
“I always just believed in assisting people to discover what’s their best self,” he said. “I’d rather work on health, wellness and optimal living.”
So he closed his practice of 16 years in the ’90s and joined a burgeoning movement: life coaching.
Williams was one of the first members of the International Coaching Federation, which recently named him to its Circle of Distinction. It’s the first year for the award, and Williams and five other honorees were chosen from 35 nominees from various countries, according to a news release from the federation.
