Come experience ways to deepen your coaching and to increase insights for your clients with the elegance of using metaphors. Metaphors help clients know what was unknown before and use the power of the unconscious in creative and transformational ways.
You will learn the ‘magic question” that always evokes a metaphor and other tools to assist your clients in deepening and broadening their learning to overcome obstacles to creating the life they want and the future that are wanting to design.
Learning to use metaphors on purpose will energize your work with clients and give you new methods, techniques and applications for increasing client awareness and choices for changing behaviour.
In this webinar series you will learn:
- How to listen for metaphors in your coaching conversations
- Steps to elicit metaphors for creativity in problem solving
- A magic question that almost always evokes metaphoric viewpoint of a present challenge
- When and how to use guided imagery as tool for creativity
We will offer space for questions, practice and conversations; and coaches will be able to share their experiences and learn from each other.
Webinar 1: Metaphors be With You – Nov 29th
An exploration of historical writers and theorists and the presence of metaphors in human communication. The definition and the neuroscience of metaphors will be explained. An overview and how and when to use metaphors in coaching.
Webinar 2: Clean Language as a tool – Dec 13th
Clean Language ( developed by David Grove) will be reviewed with its ‘formulas’ for using metaphors with the coaching avoiding ‘polluting’ the clients process of awareness by using what they present. Expanding the clients awareness and the ability to deepen their understanding will be presented with practice and examples of use. A Coaching demonstration will be done by Dr. Williams in this session, followed by group response and questions.
Webinar 3: Use of Guided Imagery – Jan 10th
We will explore the use of both guided imagery as a tool for expanding a clients repertoire for accessing the power of the unconscious, thereby making the unknown known. A distinction of guided and contextualizing imagery will be demonstrated.
Webinar 4: The Use of Photographs and Picture Cards – Jan 24th
A tool for deepening a client’s awareness and mining for new insights will be the use of a photographic tool called Points of You™. Ways to incorporate photographs and art into your client relationship will be explored.
Live sessions will take place at 8:00 AM EST on November 29th, December 13th, January 10th and January 24th, 2018. Recordings and all other resources will be made available to all registered participants.
