Examples of Common Boundaries – Continued
Boundaries with spirit can include helping the client give more purposeful time to his or her spiritual self. Meditation, spiritual practices, church or synagogue attendance, or exploration of their life purpose and meaning can all be ways to explore these boundaries. Their boundaries are strengthened when they set them to allow space, time and energy for attending to their own spiritual growth.
Busy people often neglect their physical being. By setting new boundaries for clients to focus on self-care, they will increase their physical health and well-being. With your clients, coach about ways and strategies for them to be purposeful and intentional about their bodies. Physical activity and self-care are important aspects of total life coaching conversations.
Although relationships are affected by all of the above, I make special mention of this as an area for strengthening boundaries, because what your clients contribute to any relationship reflects who they are as well as the habits they have. Without relationships, we never develop as human beings. So having time and desire to focus on self, our bodies, our heart, our spirit also includes attention to what kind of relationships we choose and what we contribute to them.
